DescriptionVermont Afternoon painting by Carroll N. Jones III 1 Feb 14.jpg
English: "It certainly was a lazy afternoon in 1983 in Vergennes, Vermont when I got the material for this painting. There seemed to be a painting I could do on every block. The day was devoted to taking pictures in this wonderful old town. I didn't know then it would be 30 something years before I would get to put this image, the way I wanted, on canvas. The house was in need of repair, but most houses in Vermont were in need of repair, except the new ones the people from Long Island bought. No home 'speaks' to me more than an old white house with a new paint job in the future. This house is gone.....Taken down with it's neighbors to make room for a small condo complex. I'm glad I captured this warm front porch with flowers before the devouring." Carroll Jones III
